    1. What is consecration?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Total Consecration can be understood in two ways. There are many sort of \u201cconsecration to Mary\u201d that consist of a request rather than an act of submission. Catholics consecrate a child to the Mother of God, or consecrate themselves to Our Lady on the occasion of their First Holy Communion, etc. This is to make a request of her, that she might take me completely under her protection and make me entirely her own. This sort of devotion is legitimate, but it is not a donatio, a giving of self in the strict sense.<\/p>\n

    2. What is the Consecration to the Immaculata in the M.I?\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The Knight of the Immaculata enters the Militia Immaculat\u00e6 through Total Consecration to Mary, a solemn answer to the Immaculata\u2019s call to fight under her banner. The individual has recognized the greatness and importance of the Mother of God as a lifeline in these difficult times and wishes to respond.<\/p>\n

    True consecratio<\/strong><\/em>, complete submission, consists in giving oneself to Mary in such a way that the Knight of the Immaculata regards himself in every respect as no longer being the owner and master of what he has, what he is,<\/strong> and what he does, but rather considers that all of this belongs completely and irrevocably to Mary.<\/p>\n

    Hence from now on he will dispose of his material goods only according to Mary\u2019s intentions; he will make use of his body only according to Mary\u2019s wishes. He will, of course, accept no thoughts, ideas, attachments or deliberate decisions except those that Mary would agree to.<\/p>\n

    3. How to do one’s consecration?\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Before making this commitment, it is recommended to prepare by good readings, times of meditation and why not, if possible, a recollection or a small Marian retreat.
    \nTo obtain reading on the subject of the consecration to Marie, we especially recommend two books:     “Consecration to Mary” <\/a><\/strong>according to Father Maximilien Kolbe, and “The Immaculata our ideal”<\/a><\/strong>, by Father Stehlin, international director of the M.I. These two books are especially for preparation.<\/p>\n
